World's largest swimming pool, San Alfonso del Mar resort, Algarrobo, Chile
The pool is 1,013 m (3,323 ft) long, covering 8 ha (20 acres), containing 66 million gallon of crystal clear seawater. The maximum depth of the poll is 35 m (115 ft). The pool was developed by Chilean company Crystal Lagoon, and opened in December 2006.
Total cost of the construction of this huge swimming pool is estimated about US$2 billion and it costs almost US$4 million for annual maintenance.
Crystal Lagoons, the creator of the pool, claims it's six-times bigger than it's closest competitor, the Orthlieb Pool in Casablanca, Morocco.
